This comic was created to help give a sense of community to the young members of the Little Hearts Matter (LHM) charity. Little Hearts Matter helps and supports people and families living with a single ventricle heart condition (half a working heart) and this comic became an important project in helping the young, 7-10-year-old members of LHM Kidz feel connected, especially as they are too young to use social media.
The comic contains characters that also have half a working heart, giving the young members the representation they need. As well as the story, the comic also includes activities, facts about managing half a heart and photos of other LHM Kidz members, to help the reader feel more connected. In addition to illustrating the comic, I design and format the whole publication.
