This mini project I set for myself was to take three books from Waterstones most popular non-fiction books list (as of 15/05/24) and challenged myself to redesign them. I chose three different topics and design elements to focus on for each book: nature and illustration, travel and typography and mental health and photography.

I was tasked with redesigning the book cover of Dark Waters by Maggie Allder for a design brief. I wanted to focus on the stormy water imagery and felt the best way to convey this was with watercolour paint. I painted the front and back covers, allowing the shoreline to blend with the night sky to emphasise the ominous and lonely atmosphere.
