Irlenses is a branding project I did at university where I created my own company to help educate children between 7 to 11-year-olds (Key Stage 2) about Irlen Syndrome.
Irlen Syndrome is a visual disorder that is commonly mistaken and confused with Dyslexia, though it can exist alongside it. I had recently been diagnosed with Irlen Syndrome myself and I wanted to learn more about it through this project.
Leaflet - Outside
The Irlenses journey starts with a leaflet that is to be handed out by teachers to the children, which they should then give to their guardian/s, to advertise to them that an Irlen Syndrome specialist from Irelenses is coming into their school to hold a workshop.
Leaflet - Inside
The workshop is taking place to help identify Irlen Syndrome in the classroom as this age range is the earliest that Irlen Syndrome can be identified in an individual.
School Pack
At the workshop, as well as the specialist explaining what Irlen syndrome is, the children will be given their own school pack full of resources that can help them if they are suspected to have Irlen Syndrome.
The contents of the school pack, which includes: overlays, blue writing equipment (it is easier to read blue ink than black on white paper as the contrast is less harsh), a C-PEN (pen scanner that turns words into audio) and an Irlen Syndrome friendly notebook.

The notebook from the school pack.
